Abstract

Due to the high content of carbon,sulfur,arsenic and other harmful elements,the ore in Nujiang of Yunnan province was difficult to treat and has not been developed.In order to make the cobalt ore exploitation and utilization,this paper studied the method of cobalt addition with calcium carbonate calcination and sulfuric acid leaching,and prepared cobalt sulfate with high carbon,sulfur,arsenic and cobalt concentrate as raw materials.The main harmful elements in primary cobalt ore are carbon,sulfur and arsenic,in which the contents of carbon,sulfur and arsenic were 0.22%,34.32% and 0.72% respectively.In the use of high-temperature activation process for firing,sulfur,arsenic and other harmful substances volatile,not only pollute the environment,but also threaten people's health.In order to solve this problem,the method adopts the additive limestone roasting process,the limestone and the sulfur,arsenic and other harmful substances generated calcium compounds fixed in the roasted material,thus avoiding the volatilization caused by air pollution.Carbon is volatilized in the form of carbon dioxide in high-temperature.every 50 g of cobalt samples added 1 g of calcium carbonate,roasting 1 h at 700℃,calcine grinding fine grinding fineness of-50 μm,sulfuric acid leaching temperature is room temperature,the acidity is 0.05 %,and Leaching rate of cobalt is 90.57%.Therefore,using‘limestone additive roasting-sulfuric acid leaching-concentrated crystallization’process,the cobalt recovery is more than 90%.The new method has the advantages of high recovery rate,low pollution and low cost.
