Abstract
Skeletal muscles play an important role in glucose homeostasis.The translocation and expression changes of glucose transporter 4 (GLUT4) as one of the most important glucose transporter proteins in skeletal muscle are closely associated with insulin resistance.This paper reviewed the recent research progress on the exercise-induced translocation and expression of GLUT4 as well as the improvement of exercise-induced glucose uptake by phosphatidylinositol 3-kinases (PI3K) / protein kinase B (Akt) and AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) signaling pathways in rodent skeletal muscle.The purpose of this paper is to clearly understand the mechanism underlying GLUT4 translocation and expression in rodent skeletal muscles.关键词
