摘要

Abstract

Licorice, isolated from Fabaceae Glycyrrhiza, is an essential traditional Chinese medicine. Flavonoids and triterpenoids play main roles among 400 compounds, identified from Licorice. Due to phytoestrogenic activity, flavonoids are broadly used for clinical treat-ment, including breast cancer, neuropathic, cardiovascular and other various diseases via PI3K/Akt and MAPK pathways. This review fo-cuses on the molecular mechanisms and clinical applications of phytoestrogen from licorice, based on database of China National Knowl-edge Infrastructure(CNKI) and PubMed, which sheds lights on the clinical treatment and drug discovery of phytoestrogen from licorice.
