Abstract

Here the characteristics of uptake, transfer and distribution of Cd in in histocyte of different rice varieties were studied in a pot experiment, provide a scientific basis for cultivating low Cd accumulation rice varieties. Rice varieties included Overwintering Riceand R1088 (low Cd accumulated in grain), IR34582 and toojing 558 (high Cd accumulated in grain). Cadmium concentrations were 0 mg·kg-1 (Cd0), 5 mg·kg-1 (Cd5) and 25 mg·kg-1 (Cd25). The results showed: (1) The Cd concentrations in root of were significantly higher than those of high Cd accumulated. However, the Cd concentrations in shoot of low Cd accumulated rice variety were significantly lower than those of high Cd accumulated, the same to TFroot-stem and TFstem-leaf sheaths. (2) The content of Cd in the central Asia of tissues was expressed as the cell wall>soluble part>cell membrane organelle. Cd contents of the root cell wall (F1), organelle (F2), cell membrane (F3) and soluble fraction (F4) were in low accumulation rice varieties were significantly higher than those of high Cd accumulated. Howere, the Cd content of F1, F2, F3 and F4 in stem, leaf sheath and leaf were significantly lower than that of Cd high accumulation of rice varieties. (3) The correlation analysis of the transfer coefficient and the distribution of Cd subcellular distribution in different rice varieties was indicated that TFroot-stem was negatively correlated with the proportion of F1 distribution under the Cd5 treatment (R2=0.-931, P<0.01), and TFroot-stem was significantly positively correlated with the proportion of F4 under the same treatment (R2=0.702, P<0.05). TFroot-stem was extremely negatively correlated with the proportion of F1 distribution under the Cd25 treatment (R2=-0.908, P<0.01), and TFroot-stem was extremely positively correlated with the proportion of F4 under the same treatment (R2=0.786, P<0.01). In summary, the content of Cd in rice tissues increased significantly under Cd stress. The Cd content and the TFroot-stem were significant difference between Cd high and low accumulation of rice varieties. The root cell wall and the soluble fraction play an important role in the process of Cd transportation from the root to the shoot.
