降低聚合物稳定蓝相液晶显示器驱动电压的一种方法
A method to reduce the operating voltage of polymerstabilized blue-phase liquid crystal displays

Abstract
Polymer stabilized blue phase liquid crystal display (PS-BPLCD) is difficult to be used in production because of its high operating voltage and hysteresis effect.In this paper, we analyzed the reason of the high operating voltage of BPLCD based on the relationship between the electric field and electric displacement in electrodynamics and the dielectric constants of every material used in BPLCD.The reason is that the dielectric constant of polymer and insulator layer's material is far less than that of blue phase liquid crystal.The operating voltage of PS-BPLCD can be obviously reduced by increasing the dielectric constant of polymer and insulator layer's material.The results show that the operating voltage is reduced to the half when the dielectric constants of polymer and insulator layer's material reach the average dielectric constant of liquid crystal.These results have promotion effect in the industrialization of PS-BPLCD.关键词
