Abstract
Small and Medium-sized liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tanks are widely used with various structures.In this study,the finite element simulation of the cryogenic LNG horizontal storage tank was conducted with ANSYS software,focusing on the rationality of the structures of axial and radial connecting strips between outer and inner vessels.Result indicates that with enough radial strips,the axial connecting stripsare not necessary because they couldinducelarge local stresses and even lead to the failure of conformingto the strength requirement of the tank.In addition,the axial connecting stripswill cause more heat conductivity between outer and inner vessels,increasing the evaporation of the liquefied medium stored in the tank.关键词
