Abstract
Objective To investigate the level of job satisfaction of community medical staff in Beijing,so as to provide a reference for the formulation and enaction of relative policies by the government.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted in this study.We developed the questionnaire based on a comprehensive evaluation index system of job satisfaction of community medical staff constructed on the basis of literature researching,results of intensive expert and personal interviews and so forth,which consists of community medical staff's baseline characteristics and job satisfaction (8 dimensions of satisfaction with the job itself,sense of achievement in job,satisfaction with working environment,salary,interpersonal relationship in the unit,work stress and physical health,job loyalty and recommendation,and overall job satisfaction).Using stratified random sampling,from the name list of community health service institutions in Beijing (2015),we selected 90 community health service centers (CHSCs) and 144 community health service stations (CHSSs).Then,from these selected CHSCs and CHSSs,we selected all the community medical staff (n =2 470) on duty on the survey day as the subjects of this study by cluster sampling.The questionnaires were handed out to the 2 470 subjects between September and November 2015,and 2 412 valid ones were returned,with a response rate of 97.65%.Results Among the community medical staff in Beijing surveyed in 2015,the mean scores of comprehensive evaluation of job satisfaction,satisfaction with the job itself,sense of achievement in job,satisfaction with working environment,salary,interpersonal relationship in the unit,work stress and physical health,job loyalty and recommendation and overall job satisfaction respectively were (72.68 ± 13.87),(73.91 ± 15.47),(87.41 ± 15.44),(74.71±18.23),(61.78±21.79),(81.30±16.32),(67.06±13.41),(70.51±20.39),(83.82±13.82).Mean scores of comprehensive evaluation of job satisfaction differed significantly between the community medical staff from the selected CHSCs and CHSSs in 16 districts and counties of Beijing (P < 0.05).There were significant differences in mean scores of comprehensive evaluation of job satisfaction by the district or county the unit is located,educational attainment,post and interpersonal relationship in the unit between the medical staff (P < 0.05).Sex,age and professional and technical title did not lead in the difference in the mean scores of overall job satisfaction between the medical staff (P > 0.05).Conclusion The level of job satisfaction of community medical staff in Beijing is not satisfactory.In view of this,higher payment and targeted training and education are suggested as the solutions to improve the job satisfaction and service capabilities of these health care providers.关键词
