Mastoidectomy:House versus Fisch Techniques
摘要
Abstract
The mastoidectomy is divided into two types of procedures:the canal wall up or complete wall mastoid-ectomy (closed procedure), and canal wall down mastoidectomy (open procedure). In the canal wall up or intact canal wall mastoidectomy, Dr. House's and Dr. Fisch's techniques are different in management of the posterior wall of bony ex-ternal ear canal, selection of facial nerve landmarks, the way of opening the facial recess, placement of a plastic sheet in the tympanic cavity, and so on. In the"open procedure", Dr. House's and Dr. Fisch's techniques are different in the surgi-cal cavity size, selection of facial nerve landmarks, and how to reduce the surgery surgical cavity.关键词
