Abstract
Based on impacts of Chinese traditional building technology and culture, daylighting in landscape architecture of Suzhou classical gardens is very unique and worth studying. However, due to time, economic and other facts, the data collected on the field is limited. It may represent certain interior daylighting environments under the measured sky condition only. Annual dynamic daylight software DAYSIM which based on a weather climate file is widely used in recently years. This study applied DAYSIM to study daylighting in Xiaoshan Chonggui Hall, which is one of the main landscape architectures in Suzhou classical gardens. This paper analyzes problems and difficulties for applying DAYSIM to study daylighting in this four-sides Hall, and explores the possibility of using advanced daylighting software to study Chinese traditional landscape architectures.关键词
