摘要

Abstract

We have developed a new method using characteristic points and have improved a numerical method (a least-squares method) based on previous research to determine the shape (shape coefficients),depth,polarization angle,and electric dipole moment of a buried simple geometric structure from residual self-potential anomalies.The method using characteristic points is to define the anomaly values at three characteristic points and their corresponding distances on the anomaly profiles,which permits to obtain the four parameters rapidly.In the improved least-squares method,adding the calculation of the zero-potential point and other processing procedures allows us to determine the four parameters with a higher accuracy.Both the two methods have been tested on synthetic data (which is added ± 5% random error) and a field data from Turkey.The results show a good agreement with the actual parameters.
