Abstract

High-dispersed and well-distributed Pt-Sn catalyst supported on graphene-modified carbon fiber was prepared by an electrospinning method for direct ethanol fuel cell. The phase composition and microstructure of the catalyst were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The electrocatalytic activity was determined by cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and alternating current impedance to investigate the effect of graphene content on the catalytic activity of anode catalyst. The results show that the catalyst supported on carbon fiber loaded with 3% (in mass fraction) graphene obtains an optimum electrocatalytic activity with a current density of 119 mA/cm2.
