Improved nonlinear error precorrection method for digital PWM generators
摘要
Abstract
Due to the nonlinearity of the digital pulse width modulation (PWM) generators in digital class D power amplifiers,this paper proposed an improved nonlinear error precorrection method for digital PWM generators.The proposed method took advantage of the characteristics of ∑-△ modulators to modify the correction factor expression of the original method.This method not only can correct the nonlinear error produced by the digital PWM generator,but also can solve the original method's problem that the energy of the correction factors adding to the ∑-△ modulator is too big to cause the integrator outputs saturate and oscillate,so it can degrade the performance of the power amplifier system.The experimental results indicate that the energy of the correction factors calculated from this method is far less than that calculated from the original nonlinear error precorrection method and that the proposed method can basically eliminate the nonlinear error produced by the digital PWM generator.关键词
