摘要
Abstract
Central lines have been utilized widely in clinical practices, however, complications from placement or maintenance occur frequently.Real time ultrasound guidance during placement has been shown to reduce complications and improve success rate. The oblique method has the advantages of simultaneous display of both artery and vein, and the ability to follow the full length of needle.Central line related infections could cause sepsis, osteomyelitis, endocarditis and death.Strict adherence of Center for Disease Control and Prevention's central line bundle management could significantly reduce central line related infections. It is recommended to count instruments after placement to include at least the needle, dilator and guidewire, to reduce the likelihood of retained wires. In summary, we should use real time ultrasound guidance, bundle management and instrument counting to systemically reduce central line related complications.关键词
