Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of Dairy Intake in Patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease:A Qualitative Study

Abstract
Objective To explore the knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of dairy intake in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Methods With descriptive qualitative research, we conducted a self-structured interview in 21 patients with IBD from December 2015 to March 2016 and the data were analyzed with content analysis method and the software Nvivo 10.0. Results The knowledge of dairy intake covered 2 sub-themes including fuzzy and partial cognition on dairy products; the attitude of that 3 sub-themes including positive, negative and free attitude toward dairy intake and the practice of dairy intake covered 2 sub-themes including individualized intake and shift in intake behavior. Conclusion Patients with IBD present diverse attitude toward dairy intake and it is necessary to improve their cognition on and their positive attitude toward dairy intake. Dairy intake promotion and targeted guidance on dairy intake are beneficial to developing scientific dairy intake habit and promoting the development of self diet management.关键词
