Abstract
The Xi's Family Garden (习家池), located to the south of the city of Xiangyang, has been well preserved till today, notably on account of the outstanding political activities of Xi Zaochi.The ideal political personality of Xi Zaochi is characterized by a commitment to upholding righteousness and integrity, honoring the Lord and safeguarding peace, extending benefits to the people, and advocating meritocracy.These ideals find their expression in orthodox political ideas, Confucian ideology and appropriate political strategies, reflecting a kind of entrepreneurship and a keen thirst for career success.Framed in modern words, these ideals emphasize more of 'walking the walk' rather than 'talking the talk'.The practical significance of these ideals lies in their dismissing usurpation and disobedience, emphasizing social peace and harmony, and stressing the legitimacy and rationality of power transfer;while the historical significance of these ideals lies in the propagation of the spirit of consciousness, dedication, loyalty and patriotism.The formation of Xi Zaochi's ideal personality not only stems from his own pursuit of life value but also benefits from the inheritance of his time-honored family traditions.关键词
