Abstract
From the perspective of the integration of culture and family traditions, this paper attempts a discussion on issues related to Xi Zaochi and his positive role in the formation of the time-honored traditions of the Xi (习) family.By virtue of the strength of culture, Xi Zaochi pioneered a new model of family traditions for later generations of the Xi (习) family, namely, stressing propriety, righteousness, conscientiousness and dedication, which was perceived to be distinctly different from the intellectual interest in metaphysics and empty talk as well as the worldly pursuit of fame and power prevalent during the Wei and Jin dynasties.The patriotic sentiments along with the propagation of the spirit of core Chinese classics such as The Spring and Autumn Annals had distinguished the Xi (习) family from the gentry class.Thereby, the time-honored traditions of the Xi (习) family have set an excellent paragon for later generations, bringing inexhaustible historical enlightenment to us even today.关键词
