Abstract
Studies over Chinese surnames culture is an important part of Chinese cultural studies.As one of the Chinese surnames, the Xi (习) has left an indelible mark on the pages of Chinese cultural history.To study historical records relating to the Chinese surname Xi (习), data collection and date sorting must be put at the top of the priority list.It is important that one delve into existing historical records as far-reaching as possible to get a clear picture of the evolution and changes of the Chinese surname Xi (习).In addition to traditional historical data, one should also take heed of what can be revealed in archaeological excavations, genealogical records, archives, et cetera.After data collection, how to interpret and analyze such data also remains a key link.Only by fully comprehending the historical background that underlies such data as collected can a factual and well-founded conclusion be drawn.关键词
