Analysis on the sector collaboration type of overseas farmland investment
摘要
Abstract
With the rapid growth of worldwide overseas farmland investment, it is helpful to systematically categorize and summarize overseas farmland investment modes to reduce the investment risk and improve investment efifciency for Chinese companies. From the sector cooperation perspective, this paper explored the overseas investment modes through literature review and case analysis methods. Results show that there are three different performances of investment modes, including "Public to Public" mode, "Public to Private" mode, and "Private to Private" mode. For the "Public to Public" mode, both parties are from government sectors and they gained a lot of support from both governments and investment return is high with great potential for expansion. For the "Public to Private" mode, the investor normally has government background with abundant capital resource and seeks to work with private party in the receiving country. They require higher investment security. For the "Private to Private" mode, both parties are private businesses and no government involvement directly. Based on the research results, this paper suggests that under the guidance of "going out" and "two types of resources and two markets" strategies, it is a critical to choose a proper overseas farmland investment mode for Chinese companies to improve investment efifciency, to carry out "going out"strategy, and to thoroughly participate in the global farmland resource reallocation.关键词
