Abstract

[Objective]Xyloglucan endotransglycosylase/hydrolase(XTH) is in the family of 16 glycoside hydrolases,its members may play an important role in plant stress response.In order to explore drought genetic resources and breed the new varieties of foxtail millet with high resistance,[Methods]in this study,the SiXTH gene family was investigated according to the foxtail millet genome database and bioinformatic method.[Results] A total of 16 X TH genes were identified.Gene structure analysis showed that the coding sequences and structure of the SiXTH genes were very conservative,the number of introns among these genes ranged from 1 to 3;SiXTHs had the typical conservative DEIDFEFLG motif;SiXTHs have stress related cis-acting elements in promoter regions.Analysis of the expression of SiXTHs under drought stress in foxtail millet varieties GG and JF16,showed that three SiXTH genes was up-regulated,but one gene down-regulated.[Conclusion]We assumed that the genes in the same subgroup had the same intronexon structure and domain.SiXTH genes might play an important role in foxtail millet under drought stress.This study would be useful for further analysis of the function of the gene family members.
