Abstract

Full waveform inversion comprehensively utilizes the dynamics and kinematics information of the prestack seismic wave field to rebuild accurately the parameter field of underground model.It is the important research orientation in geophysical exploration field of domestic and aboard,but the huge amount of computation has been an important factor which restricts its development.Computing capacity of high performance computing cluster currently consisting of the development of GPU provides an important basis of hardware for the improvement of the full waveform inversion (FWI) to make a more rapid 3D FWI,using the simplified hybrid domain FWI algorithm.We briefly introduce some optimization techniques of GPU acceleration applied to the simplified hybrid domain FWI,including the thread scheduling,GPU and GPU data transfer and the use of shared memory.The test shows that hybrid domain FWI can get a good inversion results.GPU technology can effectively improve the computation efficiency of the FWI and its speedup ratio is ten times more than CPU.
