Recent progress on peptide-regulated self-assembly of chromophores nanoarchitectonics and applications

Abstract
In the natural environment, proteins/peptides incorporate with functional chromophores self-assembly into complexes toward light-harvesting and energy transfer of natural photosynthetic system. In comparison to naturally existing proteins, synthetic peptides has attracted much interest due to their devisable structure, tunable self-assembly architecture and easy availability for mimicking natural light-harvesting complexes.This paper reviewed peptide-modulated self-assembly of chromophores used for biomi-metic light-harvesting nanostructures. Peptide-adjusted organization of chromophores, synthetic peptides-chromophores conjugates, peptides combined with chromophores self-assembly by the non-covalent are highlighted. Also the light-harvesting and energy transfer properties of artificial light-harvesting complexes are discussed and the complexes apply to mineralize inorganic nanoparti-cles, generate molecular hydrogen and oxygen, photosynthesize bioactive molecules are introduced.关键词
