Potential Risk Factors of Lymph Node Metastasis in Undifferentiated Early Gastric Cancer

Abstract
Objective To explore the potential risk factors of lymph node metastasis in undifferentiated ear-ly gastric cancer. Methods One hundred and twenty-two patients with undifferentiated early gastric cancer were analyzed retrospectively,the potential risk factors of lymph node metastasis in undifferentiated early gastric cancer were analyzed by univariate analysis and multivariate analysis. Results Lymph node metastasis was de-tected in 21 (17.2%) of the 122 patients. Univariate analysis revealed correlations between lymph node metasta-sis and various factors ranging from tumor size (P=0.013), depth of invasion(P=0.015), and lymphatic thrombi involvement(P=0.018). However, in multivariate analysis, tumor diameter longer than 20 mm(P=0.027),inva-sion to the submucosal (P =0.036), and lymphatic involvement(P =0.041) were independent risk factors for lymph node metastasis. Conclusion The risk of lymph node metastasis of undifferentiated early gastric can-cer was higher in those with tumor diameter longer than 20 mm, invasion to the submucosal, and lymphatic thrombi involvement.关键词
