Formation of nano-bubbles and their influences on ultrafine mineral flotation

Abstract
The enhancing effect of nano-bubbles in ultrafine scheelite flotation was studied using a homemade nano-bubble generator based on the hydrodynamic cavitation.The effects of storage time,NaOl concentration,pH value and cavitation time on nano-bubble size distribution and Zeta potential were studied through a Zetasizer nano ZS(Malvern Nano ZS 90).The results show that nano-bubbles can be stable in NaOl solution for more than 1 h.The average size ofnano-bubble decreases with the increase of NaOl solution concentration,and increases as the pH values of solution raise.The electronegativity of nano-bubble is enhanced when pH values of solution increase.By contrast,increasing the cavitation time has no significant impact on the size of nano-bubbles beyond a certain time,probably because the dissolved gas reaches a dynamic equilibrium in liquid and gas phases in solution.Nano-bubbles in flotation can increase the flotation rate and recovery.关键词
