摘要

Abstract

Modular multilevel converter (MMC) has shown its significant project prospects in field of high-voltage high-power system.Introducing typical MMC topology and operation principles,this paper focused on sub-module-level and system-level respectively to summarize state-of-the-art progress of MMC topologies.Then its industry application status such as flexible DC power transmission,electric power drive,high-voltage DC power conversion,power quality conditioning,was reviewed in detail.Moreover,future key issues to be solved urgently were also pointed out.It shows that MMC has good application prospect in next-generation power system,especially for high-voltage high-power conversion system.
