蓝细菌钙化作用
Cyanobacterial Calcification
摘要
Abstract
Cyanobacterial calcification is an important mechanism that induces carbonate minerals to precipitate, which is primarily dependent on the pH changes in the cyanobacterial sheath resulting from photosynthetic uptake of CO2 and HCO[.The products of cyanobacterial calcification are enigma-like fossils such as Girvanella,Epiphyton and Renalcis. The geological distribution of calcified cyanobacterial fossils suggests the cyanobacterial calcification is genetically related to the changes of both the seawater chemistry and the atomospheric CO2 and O2 and thus becomes an important biosedimentary phenomenon.Years of studies further show that the development of carbon dioxide concentrating mechanisms(CCMs) is induced when the pressure of atmospheric CO2 declined below 10 PAL(present atomosphere level) and the pressure of atmospheric O2 increased. In vivo sheath calcification is promoted by CCMs and is a direct ecophysiological link to atmospheric CO2 concentration. The discovery of the earlist calcified cyanobacterial sheath in vivo at 1.2 Ga may have reflected relatively early origin of CCMs.To trace the cyanobacterial calcification not only broadens the studying domain of sedimentology but also provides some new ideas and thinking approaches for bioaffinity enigma-like fossils.关键词
