Study on the cognition on colorectal cancer screening of the residents in a community of Zhengzhou City
摘要
Abstract
Objective To investigate the cognition on colorectal cancer screening of the residents in a community of Zhengzhou City. Methods The residents in a community of Zhengzhou City were selected as the objects, the survey was conducted to get their views on colorectal cancer screening, the reasons of unwillingly receiving screening, and their awareness of the disease, etc. Results The questionnaires were handed out to 242 residents and then all of them were collected. All the residents considered that colorectal cancer screening was of great importance. However, there were 44 households (18.2%) of residents refusing to receive screening.Among the residents who accepted screening, there were 17 residents (7.0%) with positive FOBT (fecal occult blood test),among whom 7 residents (41.2%) refused further colonoscopy. In terms of cognition, there were 88.4% (214/242) of the residents who did not understand the current state of the incidence and mortality of colorectal cancer;there were 85.9% (208/242) of the residents who were not clear about the risk factors of colorectal cancer;there were only 9.9% (24/242) of the residents who avoided the risk factors of colorectal cancer. Conclusions The cognitive degree on colorectal cancer of the residents in a community of Zhengzhou City is relatively low.Though they believe that the development of colorectal cancer screening is necessary, influenced by time and other factors, the screening rate is low, which can be improved through certain intervention to prevent control colorectal cancer.关键词
