Degradation of methyl orange by Fe supported resin catalyzed persulfate
摘要
Abstract
In order to degrade the azo dye methyl orange in aqueous solution,an Fe supported resin (Fe/R),a catalyst with a high catalytic activity,was prepared with the ion exchange method and used to catalyze persulfate.In addition,the effects of different operation conditions on the degradation of methyl orange were investigated.The experimental results demonstrated that the decolorization rate of methyl orange increased as the amount of catalyst and the persulfate concentration increased,but the rate decreased with an increase in the initial methyl orange concentration.However,the decolorization rate of methyl orange firstly increased and then decreased with increasing initial pH.In order to investigate the stability of the Fe/R catalyst,Fe/R was used to catalyze persulfate for the degradation of methyl orange for five consecutive cycles and the results showed that the methyl orange removal rate was higher than 86% each time,which illustrated the excellent cycling performance of Fe/R.关键词
