Degradation of Sulfamethoxazole (SMX)by Potassium Ferrate (Ⅵ)in Water Treatment

Abstract
Treatment of sulfamethoxazole (SMX)in test solution by ferrate (Ⅵ)was investigated,aiming to propose the effect of pH,concentration of co-existing ions and humic acid on removal rate of SMX. Results showed that ferrate (Ⅵ)removed SMX from test solutions efficiently. 96 % SMX (from 1 mg/L)was removed in 45 minutes under the optimal condition,while the solution pH value was 7 and the ferrate (Ⅵ)dosage was 25 mg/L. Mg2+、Al3+、CO2-3、HCO-3 could inhibit the reaction. When concentration of humic acid was less than 15 mg/L,the removal rate would not be affected. However,humic acid could notably inhibit the removal of SMX when the concentration was more than 15 mg/L.关键词
