摘要

Abstract

Feasibility of using granular cold-water-soluble corn starch on cotton yarn sizing at low temperature (60 ℃ ~80 ℃) was discussed.The granular cold-water-soluble (GCWS) corn starch was prepared with alcohol-alkali method.Its property indexes including polarization cross phenomenon,cold-water solubility,adhesive force,viscosity and stability of viscosity,sized yarn quality and so on were tested.Meanwhile,it was compared and analyzed with oxidized corn starch size which was widely used in factories.The research result shows that the crystalline region of granular cold-water-soluble corn starch is disappeared.The cold-water solubility is much larger than oxidized corn starch.As the decrease of temperature,the adhesive force of granular cold-wate-soluble corn starch is decreased,the size viscosity is enlarged and the stability of viscosity is better.When the sizing temperature is 75 ℃ or above,the enhancing ratio and abrasion increasing ratio of granular cold-water-soluble corn starch on yarn are both larger than the sizing effect of oxidized corn starch at 95 ℃.It is considered that granular cold-water-soluble corn starch is a size with higher concentration & lower viscosity and excellent stability of viscosity.It has better sizing properties at high temperature.It sizing quality at lower temperature is close to that of oxidized corn starch.It is a size that suitable for the sizing of cotton yarn at lower temperature.
