摘要

Abstract

For the problems of poor intake characteristics of the pump sump in large pumping stations, and serious decline in the operation efficiency of pumping station, a 3D model of pump sump was built and meshed by using the ICEM-CFD.The mesh model was imported to the Fluent for simulating the flow pattern in pump sump based on the turbulence model of Standard.The influence of suspension height of horizontal suction pipe on the intake characteristics of the pump sump is studied.The results show that the suspension height of horizontal suction pipe and the intake characteristics of the pump sump are closely linked, and an appropriate increase in the suspension height can significantly improves the intake characteristics.However, exceeded increment is undesirable, so the recommended range of the suspension height of horizontal suction pipe is (1.2-1.5)D.
