Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of different fixation methods on length maintenance and wrist joint function after surgery of type C distal radius fractures. Methods: Seventy-four patients with type C distal radius fractures admitted in our hospital between May 2013 and December 2014 were randomized into observation group and control group by the random number table method, 37 cases in each group. The control group was treated by external fixation, while the observation group was treated by internal fixation with volar locking plate. The excellent rate of radial improvement was compared between the two groups. The wrist joint function was compared by Cooney wrist score. The degree of length maintenance of the distal radius was measured, and the complications were observed. Results: The excellent rate of treatment in the observation group (91.89％) was higher than that in the control group (72.97％) (P<0.05); The length loss of distal radius in the observation group [(0.92±0.58) mm] was lower than that in control group [(3.10±0.14) mm] while Conney score (90.04±1.25) was higher than that in the control group (78.36±1.13) (P<0.05); There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups (5.40％ vs 8.11％) (P>0.05). Conclusion; The effect of internal fixation with volar locking plate is better than that of external fixation in the treatment of type C distal radial fractures. The former can significantly maintain the radial length and improve the wrist joint function of patients. It is worthy of clinical application.关键词
