On the Realistic Circumstances of Human Being in Developed Industrial Society and Its Enlightenment——"One-Dimensional Man" in the View of Plato's Allegory of the Cave
摘要
Abstract
Marcuse argued that, as a new totalitarian society, the modern developed industrial society suppressed in people's negation, criticism and transcendence successfully, which makes people become the one-dimensional men.With the hole metaphor theory, Plato envisages the prisoner from being thrown into the hole and have long been bound in the cave, no longer imagine an another world, like a real prisoner.Although one-dimensional man is different from the bondage of prisoners, they are controlled by the social environment from external to internal ideological consciousness.Through the comparison and analysis of contemporary developed industrial society of the human survival circumstances, which can help our profound understanding of modern developed industrial society to suppress and control, which can help us promote our comprehensive understanding and reflection of contemporary society, which can help our reference to provide theoretical guidance and practical for our real life.关键词
