Title:A Survey on the Cognition,Attitude and Behavior of Food Safety among Primary School Students in Chengdu

Abstract
Objective To obtain the cognition,attitude and behavior on food safety among primary school students in Chengdu and provide primary data for the intervention of food safety education.Methods By use of stratified cluster sampling,600 students of grade 4,5 and 6 in primary school in Chengdu were investigated with a self-designed questionnaire whose cut-in point concerned a kind of popular snacks among them.Results Primary school students in Chengdu have a high level at cognition on food safety,whereas a low level at attitude and behavior.There are statistically significant differences between the average points of urban and rural primary school students(P<0.05),signifying that rural students have higher levels at cognition,attitude and behavior on food safety than urban students.There are also statistically significant differences between the points of schoolboys and schoolgirls(P<0.05),signifying that schoolboys have higher levels at cognition,attitude and behavior on food safety than schoolgirls.Conclusion The level at behavior is not in keeping with that at cognition on food safety among primary school students.When carrying out health education,girls have to be focused on.Reinforcing factors play an important part in the health-related behaviors of primary school students.关键词
