Abstract
Objective To retrospectively summarize the catheter assistant technique via the original vessel access for retrieval of tilting adhesive inferior vena cava filters. Methods From January 2012 to December 2016, totally 21 tilting adhesive inferior vena cava filters were retrieved. A wire and catheter assistant technique was adopted in the procedure to resolve the problem. Re-examination and check-up were performed after the procedure. Results All of the 21 tilting and adhesive filters were retrieved with a mean operation time of 53.3 min. Vessel injury or thrombosis was not observed in the re-examination and check-up. Conclusions Using the wire and catheter assistant technique, tilting adhesive inferior vena cava filters can be safely removed, and the adhesion and tilting can be resolved. This technique can improve the retrieval rate of filters that are hard to remove.关键词
