Research on Friction and Wear Properties of Copper-graphite Composites Under Electrical Current

Abstract
The influence of electrical current and velocity on friction coefficient and wear rate of copper-graphite composites for electric locomotive were researched on a high-speed friction and wear tester,the morphology of worn surface were observed and analyzed.The results show that the friction coefficient reduces and wear rate rises with the increase of electrical current at the same velocity.At the same current,the friction coefficient rises at the beginning and reduces later along with the increase of velocity.The wear rate rises at first and decreases later.When the velocity is more than 40 m/s,the wear rate rapidly increases with the increase of velocity,and the wear mechanism of the material changes obviously.关键词
