Abstract

A multi-agent system (MAS) based distributed cooperative control strategy for voltage unbalance compensation in the islanded microgrid is proposed to deal with the voltage unbalance at the point of common coupling (PCC) due to unbalanced loads or faults.The distributed generators (DGs) in the microgrid are equivalent to the agents in a networked MAS.And the reference of compensation signal is produced by a leader node connected only to a small portion of the agents.Thus the voltage unbalance compensation design resembles a tracking synchronization problem.The distributed control rate is designed using linear state feedback.This control strategy relies on a directed one-way communication graph.Each agent only deals with local information and that from its neighborhood.This kind of control strategy obviates the requirement for a central controller, which, in turn, improves the reliability.The effectiveness of the proposed control strategy is verified by a microgrid test system.The simulation results show that the proposed control strategy can effectively suppress the voltage unbalance at PCC.
