Effect of implantation of Ex-PRESS glaucoma drainage screw on intraocular pressure in patients with primary open angle glaucoma

Abstract
Objective To analyze the effect of Ex-PRESS glaucoma drainage screw implantation on intraocular pressure in primary open angle glaucoma patients.Methods 70 patients (98 eyes) with primary open angle glaucoma were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,35 cases (49 eyes) for each group.The control group received conventional trabeculectomy and the observation group were implantated ExPRESS glaucoma drainage screw.The surgery success rate,the intraocular pressure before and after surgery,and the incidence of postoperative complications were compared between these two groups.Results The surgery success rate was 83.67％ in the observation group and 65.31％ in the control group,with a statistical difference (P＜ 0.05).Before operation,there was no s statistical difference in intraocular pressure between these two groups (P＞ 0.05);1 weeks and 1 and 3 months after operation,the intraocular pressures were higher in the observation group than in the control group,with statistical differences (all P ＜ 0.05).The incidence of complications after operation was 8.16％ in the observation group and 22.45％ in the control group,with a statistical difference (P＜ 0.05).Conclusions The implantation of Ex-PRESS glaucoma drainage screw for patients with primary open angle glaucoma can effectively control the intraocular pressure and has high the success rate and safety and few complications,so it is worth being clinically gengeralized.关键词
