Research progress of neutrophil extracellular traps in atherosclerosis

Abstract
It has become a consensus in the field of cardio-cerebrovascular disease that atherosclerosis is an inflammatory response disease,and inflammation cells involved in atherosclerotic are varied,including mononuclearmacrophages,dendritic cells,T lymphocytes and neutrophils,etc.Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) are mesh structure released by activated neutrophils.They have diverse biological activities,such as anti-inflammatory and proinflammatory effect,procoagulant activity.They also participate in pathological processes of many kinds of diseases.A number of studies found that neutrophils can be activated by some stimulating factor and release NETs.NETs have cytotoxic and pro-thrombotic effects,and the ability to interact with macrophages,they play an important role in atherosderosis pathology as a link between inflammation and thrombosis.关键词
