Effects of type Ⅱ diabetes on the morbidity of sarcopenia

Abstract
Objective:To explore the effects of type Ⅱ diabetes on the morbidity of sarcopenia by measuring and analyzing the content of skeletal muscle,grip strength and pace.Methods:Patients with type Ⅱ diabetes in endocrinology and healthy persons who did physical examination at the same time were enrolled from the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinzhou Medical University for this study.The muscle content,grip strength and pace of different parts of body were measured by bioelectrical impedance.Results:The percentage of total muscle mass and trunk muscle in type Ⅱ diabetes group was lower than that in control group.Skeletal muscle index,right strength grip and pace in type Ⅱ diabetes group were also lower than that in the control group.The morbidity of sarcopenia in type Ⅱ diabetes group was higher than that of control group.Conclusion:Compared with healthy people,the decrease of muscle content,function and strength of skeletal in type Ⅱ diabetes patients is found and the morbidity of sarcopenia is increased significantly.Therefore,sarcopenia should be prevented positively and properly in the clinical treatment of patients with type Ⅱ diabetes so as to improve the life quality of the patients.关键词
