Kinematics Analysis on Sliding Rod of Tripod Sliding Universal Joints

Abstract
The tripod sliding universal joint is widely used in the driving axle of the predecessor vehicle because its larger torque.And the sliding rod is an important transmission part of the tripod sliding universal joint.Thus, this paper carries out the kinematics analysis on sliding rod, simplifies the geometrical model and establishes the coordinate system, during which the movement of the sliding rod was analyzed by the direction cosine matrix.The influence of the angle between the input shaft and the intermediate shaft and the influence of the rotation frequency of the joint on the movement of the sliding rod in the hole of the tripod sleeve were studied by means of MATLAB software and Pro/E software.The results show that the maximum displacement and velocity of the sliding rod movement increase with the increase of the angle.The maximum displacement, or amplitude, has no connection with the joint rotation frequency, and the maximum speed is proportional to the rotation frequency.The analysis on the movement of the sliding rod plays an important role in analyzing characteristics of the tripod sliding universal joint, and it provides a basis for the further study of its dynamic characteristics and lubrication characteristics.关键词
