TRANSFORAMINAL ENDOSCOPIC RESECTION IN THE TREATMENT OF PROLAPSE OF LUMBAR INTERVERTEBRAL DISC

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical effectiveness of transforaminal endoscopic surgery (TES) for prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc (PLID).Methods A retrospective analysis was done in 95 patients with PLID treated in our hospital-from October 2014 to October 2016-adopting TES.The patients were followed up from two to 24 months,with an average of 10.3 months.Employing Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score,the situation of lumbocrural pain was evaluated;applying Oswestry Disability Index (ODI),the lumbar function was evaluated.The above evaluations were done before surgery,one month after sur gery and at the last follow-up.The efficacy was assessed using modified MacNab criteria at the last follow-up.Results The differences in VAS and ODI scores among the 95 patients-at pre-operation,one month after surgery and at the last follow-up-were statistically significant (x2 =204.186,198.047;P ＜ 0.05).According to modified MacNab criteria at the last follow up,the results were excellent in 18 cases,good in 71 cases,fair in four cases,and poor in two,the excellent rate was 93.7％.Conclusion Transforaminal endoscopic surgery for prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc can get quick alleviation of symptoms and satisfactory clinical efficacy.关键词
