Abstract

Multipactor is one of the most important failure effects for the spaceborne microwave components. With the rapid development of wideband communication satellite systems,the multicarrier multipactor (MM) is paid more and more attentions. While the design criterion with microwave components for single carrier RF signal is explicit, it is controversial for multicarrier multipactor.A method to determine equivalent power for the single-event multicarrier multipactor using the modified differential evolution algorithm was presented to overcome the disadvantages of the conventional empirical formula.The power properties for the multicarrier synthesis signals were analyzed,and the energy in 20 electron transit time was globally optimized.In each optimization,quadratic interpolation was used to find the local optimum, then the global optimum was obtained by using the modified Differential Evolution algorithm.It is the worst case for all kinds of configurations and the optimal average power can be used for the equivalent power in the wideband-component design.The proposed method is demonstrated with the uniform amplitude and equally spaced frequencies.The proposed approach is also able to provide reasonable equivalent power for multicarrier signals with non-uniform amplitudes or the unequally spaced frequencies.
