Characteristics of Secretory Otitis Media in Children with Real-ear to Coupler Difference Values
摘要
Abstract
Objective To compare the differences of RECD values between normal and children with secretory otitis media, and investigate the change of RECD values in secretory otitis media children to provide reference for clinical experience with hearing aids. Methods 30 healthy children (60 healthy ears) were chosen in the control group, including 15 males (30 ears) and 15 females (30 ears),with an average age of 4.5 years.20 children (40 ears) with secretory otitis media were chosen in the experimental group, including 10 males (20 ears) and 10 females (20 ears),with an average age of 4.7 years. The RECD values of the experimental group and the control group were measured by MedRX and statistically analyzed. Results The research showed that there was a significant difference of the RECD values among the 0.125 kHz,0.25kHz and 0.5 kHz in the experimental group (P<0.05).There was no significant difference among 1 kHz to 8 kHz(P>0.05).The values at 125 Hz,250 Hz and 500 Hz in the experimental group were smaller than the control group by 6.7 dB,7.2 dB and 5.6 dB,and they were negative values. The range of standard deviation of the experimental group was 0.3 to 3.9,and the mean value of the standard deviation was 2.5.The range of standard deviation in the control group was 0.7 to 2.1,mean value of the standard deviation was 1.1.There was no correlation between RECD values and acoustic admittance at each frequency in the experimental group. Conclusion RECD values of children with secretory otitis media are negative at low frequencies and change largely, suggesting that attention should be paid to the compensation gain in the low frequency portion during hearing aid fitting.关键词
