Abstract

Objective:To investigate the site selection and layout design for SPECT(-CT), and provide references on site selection and layout design for hospital to establish SPECT(-CT) section for department of nuclear medicine.Methods: According to the present management policy in China, the technical characteristics, the workflow of the SPECT(-CT) section and practical experience, the site selection and layout design for a hospital to establish SPECT(-CT) section for department of nuclear medicine were discussed.Results: The reasonable principle and scheme of site selection, and layout design of each function area for a SPECT(-CT) section were proposed.Conclusion: The radiopharmaceutical is used in SPECT (-CT), so the site selection and layout design are different with the general site. The special requirements of radiation protection should be taken into account. Reasonable site and layout design are the basis of radiation protection for SPECT(-CT) section.
