Abstract
Objective To investigate the survival conditions of elderly patients with lung cancer after chemotherapy and to evaluate the influencing factors on survival period. Methods The clinical characteristics of 91 elderly patients with lung cancer who received chemotherapy in our hospital from January 2010 to January 2012 were retrospectively reviewed. Kaplan- Meier test was used to calcu-late the overall survival ( OS ) and 1-year, 3-year, 5-year survival rate, Cox regression was used to detect the influencing factors on OS of the patients. Results The 1-year, 3-year and 5-year survival rate in this study were 59. 34% 23. 08% 10. 99%, respectively, and the median OS was 18. 23 months ( 8-77 months ); The single-factor analysis showed that KPS score, tumor stage, lymph node metastasis, early surgery, late chemotherapy regimen, chemotherapy course, radiotherapy had significant effects on OS ( P < 0. 05 );The re-sults of Cox multiple regression analysis showed that KPS score, clinical stage, lymph node metastasis, chemotherapy course were indepen-dent factors influencing the OS ( P < 0. 05 ) . Conclusion The tumor staging, lymph node metastasis, functional status and chemotherapy course are independent factors influencing the survival period. Patients may improve survival period if receiving surgery early, more than equal to 4 courses chemotherapy and/or adjuvant radiotherapy when they have good functional status.关键词
