Abstract

The interpretation and structural analysis of 3D seismic data show that two left-lateral strike-slip fault groups parallel to the axis of the anticline (about 310 °) are developed in the two wings of Nanyishan anticline.The overall Nanyishan structure is characterized as positive flower structure,and three groups of secondary fractures can be seen in the crest of the anticline,which well match with R,R',and X in the Riedel shear model respectively.The property and orientation of the secondary fractures indicate that the boundary fault zone of the Nanyishan are dominated by left-lateral strike-slip movement rather than thrusting.Since the late Cenozoic,southwestern Qaidam basin is controlled by the Altyn Tagh fault systems and the Kunbei fault systems in the transpressional tectonic environment as a whole.A transpressional system rather than a thrusting system has formed in this region.The anticlinal dome and extensional second-order faults induced by transpressional structure system is the major controlling factor for the gas accumulation in Nanyishan.Left-lateral transpressional structure and anticlinal dome form the structural trap.Secondary fractures connect source rocks and reservoirs and form the migration pathway and reservoir of oil and gas.
