Abstract
This paper presents seismic behavior of steel unequal-depth-beams to concrete-filled-tubular-column connection with external-diaphragm (UCCE).Four specimens were conducted under cyclic and monotonic loading tests.The experimental parameters were beam depths and loading type (cyclic loading and monotonic loading).In order to discuss the shear resistant capacity of the panel zone,specimens were designed following the principle of strong-member and weak-connection.The failure modes of UCCE include the shear failure of the entire panel zone and the shear failure of partial panel zone.It is found that,the loading types have little influence on the shear strength and shear deformation of entire panels.UCCE forms different failure modes under different loading directions.In addition,the shear capacities of specimens under the negative loading are a little higher than those under the positive loading.The difference in beam depth has major impacts on both failure modes and shear capacities of connection panel zone.All the specimens behave in a ductile manner throughout the test and no signs of fracturing.Beam-to-CFT column connections have good deformability and stable energy dissipation capacity.However,with the increase of differences in beam depths,the energy dissipation capacity decreases.关键词
