《萨迦格言》比喻辞格英译比较研究
Translation of Metaphors: Two English Versions of Sakya Gnomic Verse as Exemplar
摘要
Abstract
Metaphors in Sakya Gnomic Verse have three categories: simile, metaphor and metonymy.Two representative full English Versions of Sakya Gnomic Verse , namely the version by Davenport in 2000 and Li Zhengshuan in 2013, were selected as the exemplar.A comparative study was then conducted to study the strategies adopted in the translation of metaphors.It is found that both Davenport and Li Zhengshuan reproduce the meaning and form of metaphor to achieve functional equivalence in the deconstructing of the original, but they adopt different translation strategies in transforming the metaphor image, which again realizes the functional equivalence in culture.关键词
