Abstract

In order to provide more accurate simulation of the aerodynamic characteristics of airfoil, by viscous-inviscid interaction method, the computational fluid dynamics(CFD) approach which based on Navier-Stokes(N-S) equation was employed to simulate the aerodynamic parameters of aifoil.By the comparison of the simulate results and experiment results, characteristics and accuracy of each simulation method were evaluated.The results showed that Xfoil program, based on viscous-inviscid interaction method, could preferably predict the aerodynamic characteristics of airfoil under attached-flow conditions, and was suitable for flow at low Reynolds number.As for stall on airfoil, the CFD method was better, and the high accuracy T-SST turbulent model which could capture minor changes of flow field was the best.
