Study on application of RTE to devitalized tissue area of lower limb gunshot wounds in pigs

Abstract
Objective To explore the value of real-time tissue elastography (RTE) in the diagnosis of the devitalized tissue area around the gunshot wound of lower limb in pigs.Methods Animal models of soft tissue gunshot wounds of lower limb in pigs were prepared.RTE was applied at different time points before and after the wounding to observe the wounded area in a dynamic manner and compare with the result of pathological examination.Results RTE image showed "soft" features in the primary wound tract immediately after the wounding,with the scope determined by the amount of hematocele in the primary wound tract.As time went on,24 h after the wounding,the blood clot in the primary wound tract showed organization and "hard" features.The RTE of the primary wound tract and peripheral tissues immediately after the wounding showed inside-out variation features of "soft-hard-soft" or "soft-hard".According to pathological examination,the hardened areas in RTE were devitalized tissues,while the outside relatively "soft" areas were normal tissues.Conclusion RTE can quickly identify the devitalized tissue areas around the primary wound tract and this provides important imaging basis for accurate diagnosis of the devitalized area of gunshot wounds in limbs.关键词
